Amazing BMW M4 Competition (F83) got boosted and powered up by Vector Tuning
The BMW 4 Series Competition is a well-equipped alternative to the Audi A5 Cabriolet and Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet, even though its cramped rear seats and compromised storage space with the roof down can limit its practicality. The car is instantly recognized as the ultimate open-roof sports car. The strong front end and the extended protuberance give the athletic silhouette an expressive dynamic. The sport's exclusive atmosphere prevails in the vehicle. The driver-oriented cockpit is equipped with round-panel dashboards in the look of a racing car for optimum readability. This creates the ideal conditions to take open driving to a new level.
The engine is like the M3 sedan, a twin- turbo six-cylinder engine with 2979 ccm displacement with intercooler. It is of BMW N55 derived, provides a maximum power of 331 kW (450 hp) and a maximum torque of 550 Nm 1850-5500 min -1. By choice it can be a six-speed manual transmission, which weighs 12 kilograms less including the two-disc clutch than that of the predecessor, and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the latter causes despite 25 kilograms more weight, the faster acceleration.
The "M Doppelkupplungsgetriebe" is a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with so-called "Drivelogic", which is designed according to BMW especially for the "M high-speed engines". The control is automatic or manual via shift paddles on the steering wheel or the shift lever. The "Launch Control" function allows a start from a standstill with maximum acceleration.
The car rides comfortably on most road surfaces, particularly with the standard 20-inch alloy wheels in play, and even with the roof down, the cabin is relatively quiet and wind free.
BMW claims the M4 Competition is a four-seater, but you'd be hard-pressed to get adults to agree with them.
