Adding power to Ford Focus 2.3 RS in Vector Tuning was never easier
The 2016 Ford Focus RS is a German five-door hatchback manufactured by Ford's European division. The Focus RS was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show in Switzerland and was first launched to customers on the European market. The 2016 model is part of the third generation Ford Focus RS and is a continuation of the 2010 year model.
Ford took an entirely different approach with the Focus RS spec, employing seriously high-tech systems to manage a vast power output, and to create a four-wheel drive chassis that responds to the demands of its driver with all the agility of a lighter, smaller and simpler machine. It goes beyond the everyday hot hatchback remit, straying into the white-eyed levels of performance and handling thrills usually reserved for out-and-out sports cars.
The 2.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine pumps out a whopping 257kW and feeds it to all four wheels to keep things manageable. 0-100kmh takes less than 5.0sec, making this range-topping Focus a rival for similarly priced hot hatches, such as the BMW M140i and Honda Civic Type R. In fact, the Focus RS isn't that much slower than the world's fastest hot hatchbacks, the Audi RS3 and Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG.
