Audi RS6 is the most powerful model from Audi AG based on the A6 , which is now being built in the fourth generation.
In December 2012, the third generation of the RS6 was presented as the Avant.
It is powered by a 4.0 l V8 petrol engine with bi-turbocharging , cylinder deactivation and 412 kW (560 hp) of maximum output. The quattro all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission are used as standard. The empty weight is said to have decreased by around 100 kilograms compared to the predecessor. Various measures are to achieve a combined standard fuel consumption of 9.6 to 9.8 l / 100 km.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 3.9 s; The top speed is limited to 250 km / h, but can be increased to 280 km / h with the "Dynamic Package" or to 305 km / h with the "Dynamic Package Plus".
The "RS" initials are taken from the German: RennSport – literally translated as "racing sport''.
